Whole 30 – A Day In The life

I am on day 3 of Whole 30, not too far in but hey I am still quite happy with myself. One of my girlfriends brought over a bunch of lemons for my house warming party so I have been taking full advantage of having them laying around. I take about a third of the lemon and squeeze the juices out into my water and plop the lemon in the glass.
waterFor breakfast I have been having an egg bake. About three eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, broccoli, and green beans. Seeing as I can not have ketchup I am topping it with hot sauce. Don’t worry I checked the label, just vinegar and spices.breakyLunch has consisted of baked chicken with a salad. I have no lettuce so I am doing broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, and green onions. For the dressing I am using EVOO, apple cider vinegar, season salt, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes.chickenDinner so far has been turkey breasts or steak with cooked veggies. With the turkey I sweat onions until they were sweet, added in some broccoli, fresh garlic, and a little bit of salt.turkeyWith the steak I cooked up broccoli and spinach and mixed it up with my favorite thai seasoning. Basically sea salt and a mix of fresh hearbs from the CSA box I used to get.steakSnacks have included bananas, kiwis, and tangelos. So far I have been a happy camper. It is only mid morning day 3 though so I will be sure to update you farther in. The good so far has been my belly! I wake up and holy crow is it flat. I don’t hate it.

    I love this!! Minus the eggs, and meat…but everything else…aka the veggies haha. I’d totally be able to come over for dinner and I would just bring my own protein.

      Hey it is 30 days! I am sure it will get tough but is THIRTY DAYS. There is an end in site, which I think makes this doable. In general I do not believe in a super restrictive diet, we all need to splurge sometimes.

    You are soooo strong!!! I don’t have the willpower to do this…. I think I actually might be addicted to cereal. And frozen yogurt. And peppermints.

    That breakfast bake.. sounds divine. You are so good at meal prepping! All I do is chop up my veggies for the week for my snack… I need to join you on preparing more!

    I have been buying lemons by the pound at Costco. I LOVE them in everything. My new fave is bubble water with fresh squeezed lemon. It is so refreshing! That egg bake looks fantastic! I need to get more veggies into my breakfast!
