Confessions seem like a great way to share all the wondering thoughts and happenings that have been swirling around lately.
1) I went camping this past weekend and it was amazingggg. My friend Faith and I started out the weekend hiking. We ended up retreating to dirt roads because of a plethora of spiders though. So we started doing hill sprints while carrying a 20+lb backpack. The backpack was obviously weighted with a cast iron skillet. Score. 2) Faith is a camping cooking expert and while I dished up some yummy salads she slaved away making pulled pork and some potatoes. Everything was amazing. I have decided that I want to eat pork at every meal. 3) I forgot my tent. I left it on the ground behind my car out front of my apartment. So we showed up with no tent and the campsite manager was a doll and gave us his. (When I called my apartment building to have some one rescue it a scallywag had already decided to claim it as their own. WHO STEALS TENTS.) Saturday night there were three girls in here, so much snuggling, and we were all pleasantly warm. I wouldn’t recommend this small space for boys or for people who you aren’t good friends with.4) I made a flyer on Monday in hopes of persuading whomever took the tent to return it. I have conveniently left said flyer at work the last two nights. Hopefully it makes it home today. I changed the sign a bit after realizing my tent was red and the red text in the middle sounds like broken English. It is perfect now I promise.5) I ate more marshmallows than a normal person should consume in their entire life in approx 48 hours.6) After realizing I gained 10lbs (not muscle haha) since surgery I got serious about losing the weight. I have a wedding in Nov for one of my really good college friends and want to look stellar. I set a goal on August 5th to lose about 30lbs by Nov 2nd, so about 2lbs a week for the next 14 weeks. After 3 weeks I am down 6.6lbs. Not too shabby.
7) I have been lazy and not cooking meat lately and after some reading realized I reallllly need to up my protein intake. So today was day one of trying to eat meat in all my main meals – it sounds like about .8 grams of protein per lb of body weight is the optimum amount to lose fat and maintain lean muscle. So I am going to try and give that a whirl.
8) Brennan and I are going away this weekend for a nice relaxing stay in the woods. We have hikes, site seeing, a wine tour, and lots of celebrating planned. I am also the coolest person ever and made a power point to map out all of our activities. I removed the text from the slides because its a getaway weekend, I don’t need any rogue visitors : ) Also yes, I did superimpose pictures of wine, Sasha, myself, and Brennan through out the entire PPT. All the pictures are of where we will actually be. I AM SO EXCITED.
